WHAT IF YOU ASK, AND DON’T RECEIVE
THE CALLES AND CHOSEN:
CHRISTIANITY IS A PLATFORM OF MANY LEVELS, THIS WE MUST UNDERSTAND TO MAKE THINGS EASIER AS WE ARE FORGING AHEAD.
IN THIS COURSE OF OUR DISCIPLESHIP IN CHRIST, THERE WILL BE A TIME WHEN THINGS WILL NOT BE AS EXPECTED.
ONE OF THE POPULAR QUOTES IN THE HOLY BIBLE IS, “ASK, AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN YOU, SEEK, AND YE SHALL FIND, KNOCK, AND IT SHALL BE OPEN UNTO YOU.”
(MATTHEW, 7:-7-8)
BUT WHAT IF YOU ASK AND DO NOT RECEIVE?
DOES THAT MAKE JESUS A LIAR?
NO, GOD IS NOT A LIAR.
ROMANS, 3:-4 “CERTAINLY NOT, INDEED LET GOD BE TRUE AND EVERY MAN A LIAR. AS IT IS WRITTEN THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND MAY OVERCOME WHEN YOU JUDGED.”
GOD WILL NOT GRANT ANY REQUEST THAT WILL NOT ALLOW HIM TO BE JUSTIFIED, OR BE CLEARED WHEN HE JUDGED.
JAMES, 4:-3 “YE ASK, AND RECEIVED NOT, BECAUSE YE ASK AMISS, THAT YE MAY CONSUME IT UPON YOUR LUSTS.”
AS WE ARE GRADUALLY ASCENDING THE STAGES OF CHRISTIANITY, WE WILL UNDERSTAND THE “WILL” OF GOD, AND ALSO LEARN HOW TO RESPECT HIS “WILL” IN OUR INDIVIDUAL LIFE.
IN THE GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE, JESUS UTTERS HIS AGONIZING PRAYER AND ENDS IT WITH, ” THY “WILL” BE DONE.”
THE SCRIPTURE TELLS US ABOUT ONE “ANNA, A PROPHETESS, THE DAUGHTER OF PHANUEL OF THE TRIBE OF ASHER. WHO LIVED WITH HER HUSBAND FOR ONLY SEVEN YEARS, AND WAS A WIDOW FOR EIGHTY-FOUR YEARS.
SHE DEPARTED NOT FROM THE TEMPLE BUT SERVED GOD WITH FASTING AND PRAYERS NIGHT AND DAY WITHOUT GRUDGE.
WHAT ABOUT THAT? THAT IS ANOTHER LEVEL OF FAITH THAT WE ALL NEED TO ATTAIN.
CHRISTIANITY IS FAR BEYOND ASKING AND EXPECTING TO RECEIVE ALWAYS.
OUR FAITH IN GOD MUST BE AS STRONG AS THOSE OF THE THREE HEBREWS IN THE FIERCE FURNACE. (DANIEL, 3:-8-25) IF YOU ASK AND RECEIVE NOT, WHAT WILL YOU DO?
WILL YOU ABANDON YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST? EITHER OR, GOD WILL STILL BE GOD.
HE HAS LONG BEEN GOD BEFORE CREATION.
IN CONCLUSION: PAUL, AN APOSTLE OF CHRIST, PRAYED TO GOD THREE TIMES THAT GOD REMOVES A THORN THAT’S ON HIS FLESH. AND GOD ANSWERED HIM SAYING, “MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR THEE; FOR MY STRENGTH IS MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS.” (2 CORINTHIANS, 12:-7-10)
PLEASE JOIN US IN PRAYER FOR OUR BRETHREN IN CHRIST, REGARDLESS OF DENOMINATION WHO ARE CURRENTLY GOING THROUGH HARDSHIP: MAY THE LORD SEND THEM COMFORT, IN ADDITION TO OUR ONGOING PRAYERS FOR UNITY AMONG CHRIST-FOLLOWERS REGARDLESS OF DENOMINATION.
