SOMETIMES YOU MAY ASK AND NOT RECEIVE AS PROMISED.
THE CALLED & GRACELY SAVED:
THE SCRIPTURE SAYS, “ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU, SEEK, AND YOU WILL FIND, KNOCK AND IT WILL BE OPEN FOR YOU.” [MATTHEW, 7:- 7-8]
BUT SOMETIMES YOU MAY ASK AND NOT RECEIVE AS PROMISED.
“GOD IS NOT A MAN THAT HE SHOULD LIE.” [NUMBERS, 23:-19]
THERE ARE FOUR REASONS BEHIND NOT BEING ABLE TO RECEIVE AS PROMISED.
THREE OF THESE ARE MAJOR WHILE THE FOURTH MAY BE CONSIDERED AN ISOLATED CASE.
FIRSTLY, JEHOVAH GOD IS NOT OBLIGATED TO BLESS THE REBELLION.
AND HE WILL NOT BLESS THE UNREPENTANT. [HEBREW 15:-17]
SECONDLY, THE BOOK OF JAMES, 4:-3-4 SAYS, “WHEN YOU ASK, YOU DO NOT RECEIVE BECAUSE YOU ASK WITH WRONG MOTIVES, THAT YOU MAY SPEND WHAT YOU GET ON YOUR PLEASURE.”
THE THIRD REASON: IS WHEN SOMEONE IS NOT PATIENT ENOUGH IN WAITING ON THE LORD AFTER PRAYER REQUESTS BUT SEEKS HELP HERE AND THERE, THAT IS SURELY AN IMPEDIMENT AND A BREACH OF RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. [ISAIAH, 59:-1-2]
THE FOURTH AND FINAL REASON: IF IT IS THE WILL OF GOD NOT TO GRANT YOU THE REQUEST, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT THAT.
OUR FAITH IN THE LORD MUST SURPASS OUR PERSONAL EXPECTATIONS.
JESUS CHRIST PRAYED, “IF IT IS POSSIBLE, LET THE CUP PASS FROM ME.” [MATTHEW, 26:-39], AND WE ALL KNOW THE OUT-COME.
THREE TIMES APOSTLE PAUL PLEADED WITH THE LORD CONCERNING HIS PREDICAMENT, AND THE LORD SAID TO HIM, “MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR THEE.” [2 CORINTHIANS, 12:-7-10]
IN CONCLUSION: IF OUR FAITH IS BASED UPON THE VANITY OF THE WORLD, THEN WE ARE IN FOR A SURPRISE.
CHRIST DID NOT DIE ON THE CROSS THAT WE MAY LIVE EXTRAVAGANTLY HERE ON EARTH BUT FOR OUR SALVATION.
