GOD IS NEVER OBLIGATED TO BE MERCIFUL TO A REBELLIOUS PERSON.
CITIZENS OF HIS KINGDOM:
OUR FAITH IN THE LORD COMES IN DIFFERENT STAGES OR CATEGORIES, THIS WE MUST GET USED TO AS WE NAVIGATE THE PATH OF SALVATION WITH THE DIRECTIVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
THE SCRIPTURE SAYS, “ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU, SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND IT, KNOCK AND IT SHALL OPEN UNTO YOU.” [MATT, 7: 7-8]
WHAT WE ARE MISSING IN THESE PASSAGES IS THAT WE MUST ASK IN CONFORMITY WITH THE WILL OF GOD THAT GOD MAY BE GLORIFIED IN EVERYTHING THAT WE DO.
ANOTHER POINT IS THAT WE MAY ASK AND GOD DECIDES NOT TO GIVE FOR A REASON BEST KNOWN TO HIM.
ARE WE THEN GOING TO ABANDON OUR FAITH IN THE LORD BECAUSE WE ASK AND DO NOT RECEIVE?
GOD FORBID.
GOD IS NEVER OBLIGATED TO BE MERCIFUL TO A REBELLIOUS PERSON.
IF WE ASK AND RECEIVE NOT, LET US CHECK OURSELF AS AN INDIVIDUAL.
GOD IS NOT TO BE BLAMED FOR OUR SHORTCOMINGS.
THE SCRIPTURE TELLS US ABOUT APOSTLE PAUL’S ENCOUNTER WITH THE LORD DURING HIS MINISTRY.
[2 CORIN, 12: 7-9] “APOSTLE PAUL PROCLAIMED, ‘FOR THAT REASON, TO KEEP ME FROM EXALTING MYSELF, THERE WAS GIVEN TO ME A THORN IN THE FLESH,
A MESSENGER OF SATAN TO TORMENT ME,
CONCERNING THIS THING I PLEADED WITH THE LORD THREE TIMES THAT IT MIGHT DEPART FROM ME.’ AND THE LORD SAID TO ME, ‘MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU.'”
IN CONCLUSION: AT ANY POINT IN THE COURSE OF OUR DISCIPLESHIP IN CHRIST WE MUST ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT GOD IS ALWAYS RIGHT IN HIS DECISIONS.
AND WHATEVER IT IS, IT’S THE FINAL. HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR US.
OUR FAITH IN THE LORD MUST NOT BE ABANDONED FOR ANY REASON.
